In 1935, Raymond Subes was entrusted with the interior design of the Crédit Foncier de France bank (now I.M.F.) in Paris. For the stately lobby, he created two streamlined, one-of-a-kind tables, each accompanied by four benches. This important commission is a rare example of the artist’s luxurious, modernist palette that exemplifies the spirit of the 1930s.

This set was later in the esteemed private collection of Wolfgang Joop, a famous German fashion designer.
