The owl represents the essence of Francois-Xavier Lalanne’s unique vision. Here, ancient Egyptian influences intermingle with Hellenistic Greek aesthetics while paying hommage to the great Art Deco sculptors like Francois Pompon, Eduard-Marcel Sandoz and of course Constantin Brancusi.
Our « Chouette de jardin sur pylône » was especially designed for the private garden of Madame X in 1990. A decade after, an edition of 8 was launched. This work held a special place in the artist’s life and was chosen as his Ury cemetery gravestone by his wife Claude Lalanne,
Provenance
Madame X, close personal friend and neighbor of Claude and Francois- Xavier Lalanne.
